Happy Belated New Year Everyone!
It’s been a busy start to our 3rd quarter, so I apologize for taking so long to send this out to everyone. As mentioned our 3rd quarter is going to be busy and packed with a number of activities, so we have a lot to look forward to. One of the first major things that has happened is we lost a great teacher, Mrs. Cindy Orr to Montgomery Elementary School. Mrs. Orr has taken her talents to become the academic coach and we know she will be fantastic. Our new teacher, replacing Mrs. Orr is Ms. Morales. Ms. Morales has worked as our PE teacher all year and even performed her student teaching here. I’m sure you’ll join me in welcoming Ms. Morales to the McMillin Community. In addition to a new teacher, we are also fortunate to bring on a new librarian to McMillin. Mrs. Roberta Dickey will now begin working alonside Mrs. Ramsey in the library. You can expect to see her on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so stop on by and say hi!
I also want to encourage the McMillin Community to come on out and cheer on our basketball and soccer teams! Students ranging from grades 4th-6th are out competing against other District schools. A big thank you to our staff members Mrs. Cruz, Mr. Barnes, and Mr. Culley for heading up these teams. I also want to thank our parents Coach Gross, Coach Avalos, and Coach Carmen for stepping up to support the school!
