Nov 18-22

Hi Everyone,

It looks like the week leading up to our Thanksgiving Break should be pretty quiet, so I’d like to take this time to first thank all of you and my incredible staff for all the blessings you bring to me and the community. I hope you are able to spend time with those you love and that you take time to relax and enjoy this time with your children.

I also would like to take a moment to review a few important safety reminders:

  1. Dismissal for most of our students is at 2:45 pm Mon.-Thur. and 1:15 pm on Fridays. Teachers have been asked to do their best to get the students out to the front of the school as early as possible, following the dismissal bell in order to be picked up as early as possible.
  2. There is only one parent pick-up/drop-off area located in front of the school. This area is identifiable by the white painted curb.
  3. Do not pick-up/drop off students in the first lot, this is for daycare vehicles and busses only. This lot is identifiable by the red painted curb.
  4. Parents are to drive as forward as possible in order to pick up their children, please do not stop in the middle of the pick-up area to load your child into your vehicle
  5.  You are not allowed to exit your vehicle, as we need to keep the traffic flow moving.
  6. Be patient, the traffic is usually done within 10 min. of dismissal
  7. If you need to exit your vehicle, please park your car in the designated guest parking lot
  8. Respect our Safety Patrol, they are there to help keep your children safe and your support is greatly appreciated.

More Safety

  1. At McMillin, we encourage students to walk to school. Please talk to your children about being safe as they cross streets.
  2. If your child rides a bike, scooter, or skateboard to school it is highly recommended that they wear a helmet.
  3. There is absolutely no riding of bicycles, scooters, or skateboards on campus at any time.

I hope this information will help you make your child’s experience at McMillin a happy and safe one. I thank you for your support.
