Lunch Applications

We still have three more days to collect lunch applications.  If you have not completed your application, please do so.

We are asking for 100% participation in submitting a lunch application for the 2022-2023. This application will have a critical impact on your child(ren)’s support and services. We are requesting all of our families to submit the application which determines the State and Federal funding that schools receive. This funding provides your child(ren) with support and resources for their academic success.

Benefits for your child(ren) include:

  • Instructional materials
  • Classroom technology
  • Additional staffing to provide supports for students
  • Extended learning opportunities for students
  • Before and after school programs

We appreciate your time and support in ensuring your child(ren) get what they need and deserve at McMillin. Please click on the link below to submit the lunch application:

Beagle Bolt Fundraiser Has Begun

What is the Beagle Bolt Jog-a-Thon?

The Beagle Bolt Jog-a-Thon has been our largest fundraiser in the past. 100% of the money collected will go directly to our PTA, which then helps your child with their grade-level field trips, assemblies, classroom supplies, books, computer programs, school sport teams costs, and more!

Students earn money by running laps around our school’s field. Participants get pledges from family, friends, neighbors, and/or businesses to support their efforts. This is a flat donation event, not a per lap event.

Beagle Bolt

The Beagle Bolt Jog-A-Thon Fundraiser is coming our way on November 10th!  This is our home-grown effort to help raise money for our school.  100% of the money raised will go to our PTA, which then will directly help your child with grade-level field trips, classroom supplies, books, and so much more! At this point, we are in need of donations to help motivate the students to raise money.  For every $25 raised, a student will get a raffle ticket to go in a prize drawing.  In the past, amazing families have donated: gift cards, movie tickets, bikes, ear buds, and so much more!  Any prize would be greatly appreciated.  Kindly have the prizes to your teacher by Friday, September 23.  Questions?  Feel free to contact Nora Martinez, 4th grade teacher, at nora.martinez@cvesd.org

The Literacy Connection

The number one determinant of a student’s academic success is the ability to read and write proficiently in standard English using academic language. Having strong literacy skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—is the gatekeeper to success in almost all content areas. Culturally and linguistically responsive teaching and learning addresses the development of literacy skills by focusing on two specific areas: academic literacy and academic language, something we continue to perfect here at McMillin.
