This Week at McMillin December 4th-8th

Book Fair

We had a fantastic turnout for our annual book fair last Wednesday.  It was fantastic to see all the families who showed up to shop for books and support our school.

Reading Volume

The amount of time students spend reading each day has an impact on their reading ability and academic performance.  At McMillin, students spend about 30 minutes or more each day during school reading.  During this time, students are reading and working on their individual reading goals that are set by the teacher.  The following chart shows about how many books a student should be completing each week if they read 60 minutes a day.  This time would include 20-30 minutes of at home reading.
