We can’t believe it is already the last week of classes for 2018 and that half of the school year is coming to a close. Thank you to each of our families for your support and dedication to our McMillin community. We are grateful for all of you! On behalf of all of us at McMillin Elementary, we want to wish everyone a terrific Winter Break.  It has been a fantastic first half of the school year!  Our students are amazing and we are fortunate to have the best teachers and staff in the Chula Vista Elementary School District.

REPORT CARD

Report cards will be sent home Friday, December 21st with your students.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

SOFTWARE TOOLS

If you would like your students to practice skills over the break, please check out the many options at www.cvesd.org under Student Links. Achieve 3000, Go Math, iReady, Imagine Learning,  Raz Kids,  and Khan Academy are all available to your students at home.  BrainPop is another great site to learn about history and science.  It is also a great way to increase vocabulary and comprehension.

Lost and Found

As the second quarter comes to a close, please be sure to stop by the lost and found to identify any of your child’s belongings. We will be donating all unclaimed items on Friday, December 21.

THIRD QUARTER

Our third quarter will begin on Tuesday, January 15 and it is a minimum day. We are looking forward to a wonderful third quarter with our students!

Hello, McMillin families of TK, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade students,

It is with great excitement that we announce our annual Winter Sing concert event! It will once again be held at the Calvary Auditorium(right next door to our McMillin school); 1771 East Palomar Street on Monday, December 17, 2018. This year’s Winter Sing will be for Grades: TK, Kinder, 1, and 2 only. Please arrive with your child at 5:30 p.m. This will give us a chance to get students situated for a 6:00 p.m. start time. Please be prepared to stay for the entire show to provide a festive atmosphere without distraction for all students as they perform.

Special Note: Please park on our McMillin school grounds (or on the street) and walk over through parking lot gate. Calvary’s parking lot is available after 6:00 p.m.

We strongly encourage dressy, festive style attire. Please refrain from dressing with any obstructive accessories that may block the view of other children and/or parents; especially headwear that sticks up or out from the natural hair area.

It would be much appreciated if all family members remain quiet during performances of all students to show respect for the great amount of work that they put forth for this event; and to not obstruct the view of any audience member, staff, or administrators of the event.

We are greatly looking forward to this very special evening; and to your participation in this celebration. Every family counts and adds to the spirit of this event in their own special way!
