McMillin will be receiving over $25,000 worth of musical instruments to support our music program.

Parent Representative Needed

McMillin is in need of a parent representative for the district Budget Advisory Committee.   This  is  a great  way  to  learn  about  the  district  budgeting  process and provide  feedback. If you are  interested, please email  moraima.silahua@cvesd.org

Talking Points for WeTip Program:

  • The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is proud to introduce a new anonymous reporting program called WeTip.
  • WeTip will enhance safety at CVESD while actively empowering students, staff, and community members to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • CVESD encourages all students, staff, and community members to be vigilant and report concerns – if you see something, say something.
  • Whether it’s a safety concern or any situation that raises suspicion, it can be reported quickly and easily online or through a phone call or text message.

Dismissal Gate Procedures

We are so proud to say that McMillin’s afterschool program is continuing to grow with many opportunities for students’ afterschool.  Quarter 2, we have a large number of students on campus engaging in fun activities every day.    To ensure our student’s safety, we are enhancing our security measures by closing the gates after school.  Starting Monday, October 16th, ALL gates be closed at 3pm.

Quarter 2 Afterschool Programs

Dismissal Procedures

Starting Monday October 16th all gates will close afterschool at 3pm, including the YMCA gate.

Parents can pick up students when program time ends at the front gate (or the YMCA gate near the MPR if your child is in a Y program).  The back gate will not be opened for pick up.  All students must be picked up in the front of the school.

Weather Expected Monday

Given that we are expecting heavy rain on Monday, our priority is to make sure the campus is safe for students.  The administration and custodians will walk the campus early Monday morning to evaluate any safety concerns that require immediate attention.  A rainy-day schedule is already in place for the day.

No Parking In Red Zones

Please do not park in red zones.  They are reserved for school buses and emergency vehicles.

Service Dogs Only

Dogs are not permitted on school grounds, service dogs only. This includes in front of the school, parking lot, etc.  Please help us keep the campus safe and leave your furry friends at home.  If you have a service dog, please register them with the main office.  Thank you.

Pick and Drop Off

Please use caution and help us ensure all students are safe during pick up and drop off. Please follow all traffic safety guidelines and be kind to one another.  We are a community, and we are safer when we all do our part.

Attendance is a key factor to academic success. Students who miss 10% or more of the school year are at risk of academic challenges.

McMillin 3rd-6th graders now have free access to tutor.com, virtual live tutoring.  Wednesday Aug 9th at 6pm we will have a live informational meeting with the tutor.com representative. Zoom link will be sent out via email and dojo.
