Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year – July 12th-16th

Good Morning McMillin Families and Friends,

The McMillin staff is so excited for the 21-22 school year. As you know, ALL of our students are welcome back on campus! The first day of school is Wednesday, July 21, and will be a minimum day. Stay tuned for a welcome back video with times and procedures. You may have many questions regarding procedures when we come back. Please know that we are waiting on an update from the CDPH on Tuesday, July 13, regarding COVID safety requirements. As of now, here is what we know.

  • All staff and students will wear masks while indoors.
  • Students may take off masks during lunch and recess.
  • Students may take off masks during outside instruction or activities.
  • As of now, parent volunteers are not allowed on campus
  • You will receive notification via email as to which teacher your child has on Monday, July 19th.

As I receive more information, I will keep you updated. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we bring all of our Beagles back on campus, safely.

Kinder and TK Parents:

Welcome to McMillin!! We are so excited to meet and greet our new families and students. On Wednesday, July 21st Kinder parents and Kinder students will have the opportunity to visit McMillin together. You will get to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, and ask and get some answers about what this new year will look like for your child. You will receive an email or phone call from your child’s teacher to set up an appointment time. When coming on campus you will need to agree to:

  1. All family members not experiencing any COVID symptoms. Health check is completed at home.
  2. Masks must be worn at all times.
  3. Staying 6 feet away from other families that may have an appointment at the same time as your family

Here is what the first week looks like for Kinder and TK students:

Wednesday, July 21: Scheduled appointments for families – Meet the teacher and class *not a school day for students

Thursday and Friday, July 22-23: **1st school day is Thursday, July 22

  • Kinder times are 8:15 – 1:00
  • TK times are 8:00 – 11:20

Starting July 26th – End of the year: (see District calendar for additional minimum days)

  • Kindergarten: 
    • Monday – Thursday 8:15 – 2:30
    • Friday and Minimum Days – 8:15 – 1:00
  • TK – Traditional Kindergarten: 
    • Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 11:20
    • Friday and Minimum Days – 8:15 – 11:20
