ATTENDANCE REMINDERS

If your student is going to be absent, please contact our school Health Attendance Specialist Ms. Dalia @ 619.397.0103 ext. 460190or via email: dalia.guerra@cvesd.org. This step is critical as we cannot allow your child to return to class until we know the reason for the absence.

If your child is going to be absent for a full or partial day due to medical appointment(s) be sure to submit a doctor’s note the following day.

If your child is going to be tardy due to a medical appointment be sure to have your student submit his/her doctor’s note upon arrival.

If your child is going to be absent due to a sports tournament, the district requires a note from the organization or flyer with the student’s name for it to be excused.

Out-of-town trips or Vacations are NOT excused absences. If your student is going to be absent for 5 days or more, please contact our Health Attendance Specialist to discuss if any accommodations can be made.

Please remember if your child has any of the COVID-19 symptoms, they must stay home. Please be sure to call the office to report the absence.

COVID – 19 TESTING OPTIONS

We highly recommend getting a PCR/NAAT test at a free County facility, at a medical provider, or at our District Office (Education Services and Support Center). If you are unable to get a COVID-19 test from your healthcare provider, free testing is available at several locations across San Diego County. Click here to view a complete listing of no-cost testing options.

Testing at our school district is for students and staff only. No family members are able to test, at this time. If you are unable to get a COVID-19 test from your healthcare provider or the county, a third option is our District office, located at 84 East J Street, Chula Vista.  The District office site hours are from M-TH 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. New Friday hours: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome UNTIL daily capacity is reached; we will stop accepting walk-ups at 3:40 p.m. M-F, so please arrive by 3:30 p.m.

A Few Safety Concerns:

Traffic: Cars are starting to line up to pick up children at 2:10. This is causing backup from 2:30 to 2:50. Students do not get out until 2:45. Consider walking, please, or pick up your child after 2:50. You will be in and out. We got them 🙂

Kindergarten Parents: Please do not go on to the upper-grade campus after picking up your kindergartener. The campus does not open until 2:45.
