Family Camp Out

Friday, October 13 @ 6pm through Saturday, October 14 @ 9am.

Bring the family to McMillin’s inaugural campout.  We will be pitching tents on the field and sleeping under the stars!

$5 per person or $20 per family (ALL AGES WELCOME).

PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES!

Registration required.  Registration forms are available in the rack in the office or you can print it by clicking here.

Participants need to provide their own tents and sleeping bags plus anything extra that you think you might need for a night of camping.

Includes:

-hot dog dinner

-flashlight snack hunt

-games

-movie

-continental breakfast

TENTS ONLY.  NO FIRE. NO GRILLS. ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY!

Beagle Bolt Fundraiser

Families,

We would like to thank you all for your support in raising just over $35,000 during our Beagle Bolt Fundraiser!  This money will be used by our amazing teachers to continue to provide the best education possible to our McMillin students.  Thank you to Ms. Martinez, the McMillin PTA, and to our parent volunteers for helping to organize and make this amazing event possible.

 

 

Safety Committee Meeting

There will be a Safety Committee meeting Tuesday, September 5th at 2:45. At this meeting parents, and staff will have the opportunity to review the draft version of the safety plan and add their input.  If you would like to attend, please RSVP to jonathan.morello@cvesd.org

 

Beagle Bolt Jog-a-thon Update

Families,

Were are excited to announce that we have raised over $10,000 so far which puts us on our way to our reaching our goal of $50,000.  We still need your support in reaching our goal.  The funds raised through the jog-a-thon help to provide classroom libraries, field trips, after school sports teams, playground equipment, student and teacher supplies, and many many other needs that the school has throughout the year.

Remember, for every $25 a student raises, they have the opportunity to be entered into a raffle to win a BMX bike, Lego Land tickets, computer, and many other exciting prizes.

We would like to thank all those who have contributed so far.  We want to especially thank Sharif Faust Lawyers, LTD for their generous donation to our school.

Thank you and remember, our jog-a-thon is on September 8th at 8:30am.

Game Night Tomorrow

The McMillin PTA invites you to a Family Game Night!  A fun, casual evening for our students and their families.  Free popcorn and water will be provided by the PTA.  Games will be available to play, feel free to bring a game to play and share with friends, and bring your own snacks as well. Hope to see you there!

Jog-a-thon Friday, September 8th

Hello McMillin Families!  

 
This is just a reminder that our school jog-a-thon is scheduled for Friday morning, September 8th.  
 
This is our largest fundraiser for the school, with all of the proceeds going back to our classrooms and students.  Please take a moment to review the blue packet that came home with your student last week, and sign up to begin fundraising through the website.  Our goal is to raise $50,000.
 
There are great prizes for your child to win!  For every $25 dollars raised, your child receives a raffle ticket to win one of our great prizes.  Some of the fun prizes are a BMX bike, 1 of 3 laptops, four tickets to Legoland, and many more!

Girls on the Run is Back!

Girls on the Run is Back!
Is your child a female in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade?  Is she interested in staying healthy and improving her self esteem? Then Girls on the Run might be just right for her! You and your child are invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, August 24 from 3-3:30 p.m. in room 804. Come get more information about this amazing organization and meet your 2017 GOTR Coaches. Parents must accompany their child. Running Club Starts Monday

The McMillin Running Club will be starting this Monday, August 7th. This year it is our goal to run 20,000 miles as a school or enough miles to run around the world. Last year, our students ran a combined 983 miles in just two months and this year we want to shatter that mark and reach a goal of around 20,000 miles.

Each morning 1st-6th graders will have the opportunity to run laps on the grass in the back of the school, weather permitting.  Each student will receive a laminated running club card from their teacher that will be scanned after each lap that they run.  Students should keep these cards in their backpacks so that they can grab them each morning before running.  Students and families can track our miles on this site https://mcmillin.active4.me/ and we will also plot our journey on the Running Club bulletin board located in our school library.  Students will also receive feet for their keychains when they personally reach 5 miles, 10 miles, 20, 30, 40…

Please encourage your child to run or walk every morning to promote a healthy start of the day and to help us run around the world!
