To show our gratitude to all Veterans and Active Duty Military, McMillin has planned the following:

Door Decorating – Each teacher will decorate the inside of their classroom door and post pictures of their class’ military veterans. Parents are asked to send in a hard copy for teachers to display on the door. Doors will be decorated by the afternoon of Friday, November 9th (to have displayed on the morning of Tuesday, November 13th and the remainder of the week). Please let your classroom teacher know if you can volunteer to help with decorating. All photos need to be received by November 9th.

Patti Guthrie, third grade teacher at McMillin, has offered to put together a slide show to honor our military veterans. This slide show will be shown to students during morning announcements. Dr. Guthrie asks that all photos be emailed to her directly at patricia.guthrie@mcmillinelementary.com. Your email should include the service members name, student(s) name(s), and relationship. Please feel free to send in any and all family members who are on active duty or retired. We would also like to honor in a special way any veterans who gave their lives in the line of duty. So please do let Dr. Guthrie and your child’s teacher know if this is the case. Photos will need to be received by Friday, November 9th.
